Fresh off of Greenlight 3, which was supposed to drop August 22nd. A new date has yet to be released. Nonetheless, I like this video, trying to stay sane is a very real concept for these celebs out here. Bow Wow stepped up his lyrical game again. G3!
Let's be real. Young Buck is the best Lyricist that 50 ever signed. Hopefully this ballywhoo will end soon. Cash Money or somebody needs to holla at this man. GO!
Man, I love Kooley High. They keep it rooted every single time they drop a project. This stuff is straight classic chillin, partying music. Following the Summer Sessions EP is Eastern Standard Time a long awaited project that boasts stellar beats and rhymes. Yes I said Stellar. NC whattup!
Presented by DJ Ill Will and HotNewHipHop and directed by Alex Nazari, here is a leak (in video form) from Tyga's upcoming mixtape Well Done. I'm guessing Black Thoughts 2 was renamed or put on hold. Tyga is also working on his sophomore album Careless world which as of yet has no release date.
MTV interviews Missy Elliot: Remembering Aaliyah nine years later. By Jayson Rodriguez
It's been nine years since Aaliyah Dana Haughton died in a plane crash and left an immense void in the hearts of her family, friends and fans.
The singer's star was still rising when her life was cut short. She released multiplatinum albums and had just started her film career, but there was always a sense that her journey would be a long one, destined for greatness.
Traces of her style and influence are apparent in contemporary artists, but her legacy is most evident in her collaborators, including Timbaland, Ginuwine and Missy Elliot.
Missy spoke with MTV News via e-mail and shared some of her favorite Aaliyah memories.
MTV: When you look around today at some of the current R&B stars, who do you see traces of Aaliyah's influence in?
Missy Elliott: I think it's hard for Aaliyah to be duplicated, because she had her own lane. But Ciara is an R&B singer who loves to dance, and Aaliyah was that same kinda artist. We knew when she dropped a record, we couldn't wait for the video. I think Aaliyah has influenced artists like a Ciara.
For anyone that ever doubted that this dude had rhymes. You were HELLA wrong. Chiddy Bang goes in on a rooftop showing you a bit of what they're allll about. GO!
From the upcoming EP titled Pattern+Grid World, ladies and gentlemen; Flying Lotus wiiiiith, "Camera Day." Be on the lookout for the project set to drop Sept. 20th.

Holl Up: Jaspects X Fonzworth Bentley: Goodbye Love
I know you may have got word about this here mixtape. However, I feel that this track "Goodbye Love" needs a spotlight. The Jaspects have been around for a few years infiltrating hip-hop heads with jazzy melodic tunes and they're so dope at it. "Goodbye Love" is actually a track from the Jaspects' album Double Consciousness released in 2007. Shouts out to Kanye and Preajok for bringing it back; even though you didn't put the whole track on there.
It's no surprise that the newest artist to Rostrum records is pretty darn good (I'm trying not to use dope so much). The first time I heard a record from Mac Miller, I knew he would be on in no time. And here we are. He as well as fellow Rostrum Records label mate Wiz Khalifa reigns from Pittsburgh, PA. Their dot on the map expands.
More Merch is the up coming project from rapper/producer Melo-X. Rapping over Ryan Leslie's beat "Fast Life" Melo proves he's a legit contender in this here rap game. GO!
The good people over at moovmnt are presenting yet another electronic/soul/dubstep mix. Done by Cali native Joe Kay, the tape makes for a relaxing past time. The artwork was created by French artist 96. Reeeeeaallly dope! GO!
Newcomer Devin White is set to release his digital LP iCRed on August 12th through Interscope records. For an interesting techno, outerspace, dance, R&B experience Devin is your dude. No pun intended. Standout tracks are "Rush," "Rollercoaster," "Pulse," and "Cry." I was feeling a Hollyweerd Steeze on a few of the tracks. Definitely not the traditional DMV sound. Go!
Here is yet another DMV representer. XO, reigning from uptown D.C. is by far one of the most solid hip-hop artists I've heard from the area. His songs and lyrical content are far more extensive than your ordinary artists. He has some stuff to talk about, and its worthy of listening to. His most recent mixtape project presented by Studio 43 dropped in January and it's crazy. Oddisee and AB the producer add the heat with their production efforts. One One Ten deserves a hearty listen. Thumbs up.
Check out RatheMC, XO and AB the Producer working on a song about gentrification in D.C. called "Where did ya go." The quality isn't the best, but you can tell it's going to be so dope when its done.
Producer Oddisee releases a west coast inspired beat tape in preparation of rapper Trek Life's album Everything Changed Nothing which is produced in full by Oddisee.
At first I thought Monae was on her DeAngelo "How Does it Feel" Steeze, but upon look and listen, I see that this video is much deeper than that. This gal is crazy...in a great way.
Trey Songz is playing no games. With the success of his last album Ready, he is releasing Pain and Pleasure on September 14th. The album along with a pack of other stuff is available for pre-order. Honestly all artists these days need to try this tactic. CD's ain't enough!!
In addition to the bracelets, shirts, memberships and other jazz you get with the pack Trey Songz along with Monica and Dondria will be kicking off the Pain and Pleasure Tour tomorrow. His most recent single "Can't be friends" is reminiscent of ready, but fresh. I think his new album is going to be just as big if not bigger than his last.
Wow, my dudes really killed this one. I love how they re-invent the songs that they rap over. They don't just put out freestyles over hot beats to get attention. This is real work people. Pay Attention. 100,000
We told you it was coming...and now it has landed. The Other Side is a project that the duo decided to release independently. With all the politics behind their shelved sophomore album, the group took a turn in style. More than anything, Nina Sky has transformed from R&B to pop-electro, but nothing too heavy. It's still capable of playing at the cookout without scaring folks. production credits include Double O, DJ Yonny and Salaam Remi to name a few. Features include Naledge and MeLo-X.
