Bugs in Ya' Teef Falside's 2009 Beat Tape Installment
I have yet to hear this tape yet, but how can you go wrong with a beat tape. Well..when we ask that question in other scenarios there's always someone who finds a way to mess things up. BUT judging by the title and cover it looks like this one is going to be good. Download Falside's tape at Audible Hype. You can also peep the interview that they did with him.
Three/21 Media Presents Baby Girl: The Best Of Aaliyah Mixtape I know it's the day after, but as her music is still alive so is the idea of tributes and mixtapes that remix her music. Media power house Three/21 released a compilation of her music to pay hommage to her legacy. WAKE UP!!
Soulculture Presents Aaliyah RevisitedThe 2009 compilation EP Aaliyah Revisited is a tribute from various soulful international artists. August 25th for those who don't know is the day that Aaliyah passed away. Even though artists who have passed will always have music that will live on, it's always nice to mix it up and present it in a new way to refresh the memory of that artist. She was the best!!!!
Do you want to discover new music? I know I do... I think I know just about every R&B song ever made (or so I like to believe), and sometimes, I just want to hear something NEW! I never met a music lover who doesn't like to "stumble" upon a new song, artist, or genre so if that's you I got one word for you: PANDORA. Now please tell me you've heard of it! But just in case you haven't...
Pandora is a FREE (yes, no hidden fees and charges like ya cellular bill) music discovery service that you can listen to on the web or on the go. Basically you can create your own "radio stations" that play only the songs, artists, and genres that you like while giving you the option to discover MORE music that appeal to your particular taste(s) based on how you rate each song. It's all powered by the Music Genome Project. Just check it out HERE, new (plus all your favorite goodies) are waiting for you to listen...
Oh Yes!....I mean Oh No! If you thought that the music was limited to the newest stuff then your dumb E hell and you don't understand what this blog is all about. Music. That's it! No particular order of old or new, unheard or exclusive. Uber News is news about music that we live by and for and how it's incorporated in our lives. So with that said, just like any person who's board in the PM I partake in a past time of discovering new tunes. I didn't just come across this one, but it's def a great listen.
This past weekend I took a minor trek from NY to DC that spanned about 230 miles. This pretty much amounts to four hours of sleep, fours hours of good music or a variation of both. If you're smart or if you're any normal person who gets tired of looking at trees and ever-changing license plates then you'd be sleep. But if you happen to come across a good album or combination of songs that cause a disruption in the thought pattern of tree....tree...car...bus....homeless person...CVS...tree, then you're in luck.
For me road trips are fun because more times than others I end up listening to music that I don't normally give the time of day on my ipod as well as songs I haven't heard in a minute. And because I'm on a road trip I always feel the urge to let an entire album play just because. I've never been on a road trip with just friends, but if I ever do I will assign myself as thee road trip selector and designate each hour to a different category; live, hip-hop, R&B, X-mas, Gospel. You get the picture.
There's just something about road trips that allow you to think and what better mechanism than music to aid you in your limitless thought? Anyway, I've traveled a few places in my lifetime and I can and will always remember what I was listening to. Honestly I believe it's music that makes every instance so memorable. When you're traveling and experiencing new things it's so much easier to remember those times when you were in the company of a great song. Here are some of the traveling instances I remember and the songs or albums I happened to be listening to.....btw these are so memorable because they were on REPEAT Heavy!!

Sa-Ra's Shafiq Goes Dolo Well the solo thing isn't forever. Though in the midst of Taz stuntin' with Kanye and Om'mas Keith judging hopefuls on Diddy's Making His Band, Shafiq decided to stay locked in the lab. His LP titled SHAFIQ EN’ A-FREE-KA is a conglomerate of hip-hop, jazz, electronic & afro funk sounds. All around A-FREE-KA is an awesome beat tape that you can chill out to. Check out the snippet on moovmnt's website.
More than likely "Cruisin" won't be featured on his new album Monster. Nonetheless the leak gives us an idea of what the project may sound like. If the other songs are similar then I don't think he'll have a problem making his way back into the spotlight. Then again how can you not like Usher?
Man I wish we still had shows like these and the time to watch them. Maybe it was because my only obligation was going to school back then but nowdays it seems I have no time to watch TV. Anyway shows like Martin were good while they lasted.

Chris Brown Is A Changed Man!Chris Brown is getting ready to drop his third album "Graffiti" one of these days, which has sparked some convo about whether or not an album so soon after... Well... Ya'll know... Is a good idea... (I honestly think it's time to let it go!) Here is the rumored first single titled "Changed Man" Personally while listening I couldn't help but to hear Dawn Richard's joint "Falls Away" (same track, produced by Battle Roy, below)... Anyway it goes dude is hella talented and I'm snatching that album off itunes when it's released!
VIBE Magazine is Back! I'm more than happy to announce that the ultimate music magazine WILL return. Thanks to Uptown Media Group, the publication will one again be bought and relaunched by fourth quarter! As an up and coming journalist I was BLOWWED when VIBE folded. I said to myself as several music magazine where dying, when VIBE folds it's a wrap. Then it closed, but deep down I knew it would return and I'm uber happy that it is. Anyway, we all knew VIBE was too dope to go out with that bogus Christina Millian and Dream cover.
Homemade Summer It's a known fact that Uber Flux is into galactic wavvyy music. I don't know what else to describe these guys as than that. Galactic and wavvyy. Yur boys Full Crate, FS Green & Grand Jackson are teaming up as a production group (Homemade) exclusively for the Bacardi Vista celebrations that take place in Amsterdam. The producers will be making a 6 track EP of summer tunes to get people in the mood. The first song that they've released features Mar and is titled "Feel Like."
DJ Hero: From World Tour to the Club If you're getting tired of making trips to Best Buy JUST to play Guitar Hero then you'll be happy to know there's another game in the making. DJ Hero features a list of songs made popular by everyone from DJ Jazzy Jeff to DJ Jam. Rock and Hip-Hop songs can be mixed and scratched together to create the ultimate party or forreal forreal the ultimate past time. Crazy fun right? Right. DJ Hero is set to be released this coming October.
Late Night Listen: Patrice Rushen-Where there is Love
Here's a little groovy thing thing
to help you have a better night. If
you're not familiar with Patrice Rushen,
you're probably a youngin. That's alright though
who wants a wrinkly face anyway?? Exactly. Anyway,
Rushen is the originator of that groove "Men in Black" song that
Will Smith created. The original, "Forget Me Nots" was on her 1982 album Straight from the Heart along with the song below titled "Where there is Love."
Nobody plays the game of "here but not here" like Clipse. When the last time these dudes gonna make a come back and stay? Hopefully this time (that was a joke by the way). IUN their new album Till the Casket Drops is set to be released October 20th. It includes lots of dope features and production (keri Hilson, Kenna, Swizz Beatz J.U.S.T.I.C.E. league, Dame Grease + more). Looks like the fourth quarter is going to be a good one for hip-hop. You just can't go wrong with a classic recipe. The Clipse + The Neptunes = satisfaction. Now where's The Neptunes + Kelis?
Anything that has to do with Minneapolis or Minnesota for that matter is going on this blog. Gotta know Dat! Ya boy Peter Parker is movin up but has always held it down on B96. Anybody from Minneapolis knows that. Shouts out to KDWB & KMOJ.

Flux Friday: 45 Nano Cases by Contexture Design
This is such a cute idea right? Right. The only problem is I have an 80G ipod. Maybe they should create CD players for the bigger pods. Either way this is a fresh creative idea that will soon have everybody walking around with tapes in their pockets.
Whitney Houston: Million Dollar Bill
You know we had to do it. Not because it leaked on all the other simple blogs, but because my fav A.Keys is behind it. I can def see Alicia performing this one. I'm really glad to see Whitney Houston back. We already know she's the absolute best. Unexpected but nice production by Swizzy. Houston's album I Look to You is due out August 31st.
Kooley High is an up and coming group out of North Carolina. Their musical style takes it way back to the basics of hip-hop, while blending components of the new school. In my idea, they're one of the groups who are trying to bring the classic old school hip-hop back. Except they're not extra with the hair, clothes and all of that.
Welp, it's good to know that some magazines are still doing alright. Kid Cudi always brings the fun and it's obviously no different with magazines. The cover does appear to be a bit scary though don't you think?
Anyway his debut album Man on the Moon: The End of Day drops September 15th. Be on the lookout!

Mary Mary ft Malice: God in Me (Remix)
It's ya favorite Gossip..I mean Gilmore..I mean Get it..I mean Gospel girls Mary Mary!! The latest single "God in Me" off of their album The Sound has been gaining lots of attention and I'm very happy for them. It's not everyday that a gospel record gets play on mainstream radio, but people are def checking for it. That just goes to show people aren't cool on gospel JUST because it's gospel. If a song is like dat then it's like dat period.
Young Buck: Shopping Ever Since that whole situation with Young Buck and G-Unit went down, Buck has continued to drop heat. That Mr 615 mixtape was the Business! Shame on you if you haven't at least heard something off of that jaunt. Singles have circulated here and there since and here's yet another one.
